Well, I don't think this is going to happen any time soon, but it is troubling that jobs that could benefit the US economy overall are being outsourced for short-term profits.

I think it's important to keep the work done in the United States, whether it be virtual or not. We must keep American money in America's hands, so we can grow instead or the 3rd world areas.

Outsourcing to virtual assistants might be profitable and helpful but it is always nice to get a face-to-face interaction in my opinion.

Yes, people from India and other developing nations really offer extremely low prices for their work. However, I have several times tried to outsource work to such people on elance, get an extremely high number of bids but when I pick a low-priced bidder it takes me so much time to have him do the job the right way..I would rather pay a bit more if I could get the job well done from the first time.

I think it takes a high initial investment of time to find a person who can do your tasks well and for a reasonable price..and only then may you start outsourcing to him.

I do work for other people on the internet and I am an American worker, but it is getting harder and harder to find work to do that pays anything. Do you think it is healthy (economically) to give so much of the work to outsourcing?
